Kishore Kumar or 'Kishore da' as he was affectionately called was arguably one of the most (if not the most) prolific playback singers produced by Bollywood in the 20th century. He began his career as a singer imitating the legendary K.L. Saigal who was a rage at the time Kishore da arrived to the Bombay film industry, preceded a few years earlier by his brother the well-known actor Ashok Kumar (affectionately called Dada Moni.) But over a few years Kishore-da developed a style of his own, and was influenced with respect to things like doodling by his singing counterparts in Hollywood. Kishore da also had a deep impact in his acting career, acting in movies like Chalti Ka Naam Gadi, Half Ticket, Jhumroo and New Delhi
